So this week was the week of transfers. Monday the
new elders got here, 8 of them, so we each got to take one of them out
and work. Elder Bennett got 2 and I got 1 so we divided ourselves and
took half the area. The new elder I was with got some good experience on
his first day, crazy people stopping us on the street and talking to us
and nobody being home: nah it wasn't that bad well for me, maybe in his
eyes it was. So he kept asking me a million questions about everything,
every part of the mission, it was really cool, I got to teach him a
lot. So we got back that night and elder Bennett had lost his wallet,
which is as good as gone in Monterrey.... or so we thought. The next
day a taxi driver came to the offices and said he found it on the ground
of the grocery store and saw that it was American so he brought it to
the only place he knew where there are American 20 year old males.
anyway quick cool miracle.
So the next day Tuesday was just insane. It is the day where all
the elders change areas and the offices are like a bus station and its
crazy. So 17 missionaries left to their house but one of them had some
visa problems and we weren't sure if he could leave the country so him,
elder cayetano and I left to the Monterrey airport to try and fix it so
he could leave the next day. We get to the airport at 1 in the afternoon
and we left there and 7:30!! haha it was the worst haha. The whole time
the visa guy told us to wait while he waited for reply from the main
visa places in Mexico city. I got pretty bored so I started talking to
all the Americans I could find. I meet some really cool people, it is
just so weird to see Americans. I even helped translate for a few of
them( a Texan accent is not good in Spanish ). Finally they told us they
could not do anything and told us to leave. So the elder with the visa
problems was supposed to have gone to the temple with the other 16
elders and President and Sister Walker. We left the airport and finally
got to the temple as they are all leaving the temple at like 9. We tell
president that this elder probably wont be able to leave and president
gets his iphone and starts calling, chewing out, asking, chewing out
everyone he can that has to do with visas. So finally the head guy of
all the visas for the church in Mexico calls elder cayetano and
apologizes for all the problems, anyway it gets fixed. President
invited me and elder cayetano to come eat in the mission house with all
the missionaries leaving. It was super legit, but weird cause I wasn't
going home the next day. We got back to the offices really late and I
had to go to the airport the next morning at 5 am to pay for the bags at
the airport. Then there we some problems there and long story short I
got to drive the presidents car!! It was awesome!! I still know how to
drive ha, I was one happy missionary. Anyway we get back to offices and
I felt sick, worked all day to catch up on the finances. and thus were
the transfers. A week I will never forget!
Okay so apart from that, we did find some new investigators this
week, much needed. We meet this guy called Rafaello, he's older and a
little crazy but we've been able to answerer some of the questions he
has so he wants us to keep coming.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. are you guys really gonna do that next week mom?
That's
awesome your guys went to Grover. wish I could have been there. Haha,
mom the Leaves in Monterrey don't Change. And I'm in the city, I'm so
tired of buses and cars and taxis and the city but its all good. I
really really like this ward.
That's crazy Scott is home, tell him
I say hi! Get pumped for general conference. Michelle said it is like
the super bowl for missionaries, its so true. Its exactly what I want
for my birthday. Everyone put a lot of work into being ready for it, it
will pay off. Get ready to be ¨planchados¨ by the brethren for not
sharing the gospel. okay maybe not,
okay well i have to go the junta con presidente.
sé que la iglesia es verdadera. i know that heavenly father listens to our prayers and that he knows everything.
