So
this week... hm well I did write on Wednesday so I only have to update
you on half of the week. Well it was rough recovering from the cambios
but finally we did by the end of the week. Thursday I went with Elder
cayetano to the consulate of Salvador because one of the new
missionaries lost his passport and he's from Salvador. We lost pretty
much all of Thursday as far as office time, but its cool because I got
to see a new part of Monterrey, its the super nice part were the
Americans live and work. Monterrey is such a cool city! I love it. So
that was Thursday. Friday was pretty normal. We taught this guy named
Jose and his wife( don´t remember her name) they are really interested,
they talk a lot, like a lot( they're old) but the wife has cancer and
they have some really amazing stories and have really strong faith.
Anyway so we invited them to church but didn't think they'd show up. But
Jose out of nowhere showed up and stayed for all 3 hours and really
liked it. Also Juan Sergio went to church! so he should be baptized this
Saturday!!!! Keep praying, were hoping. So yeah the highlight of the
week was that Juan and Jose came to church.
Saturday we had to come into the offices to finish the work for the
week. Later that night we had an amazing lesson with a less active
couple. It was really so cool. They asked us all about our missions and
our most special experiences, lessons, baptisms, our first days in
Mexico and everything, It really invited the spirit, then we asked them
to share their testimonies of the Savior and of the church, the spirit
filled the room, they are such good people and really have strong
testimonies, they're just caught in Satan's trap of lies.
Sunday after church we had a great day too. We gave a blessing to a
sister in our ward that was really special. lately we have given a lot
of blessing, it is cool to just an instrument in the Lords hands. Later
on Sunday we had a lesson with a less active who was baptized like a
year and a couple months ago named Oscar. He broke his ankle and has
been doing rehab for a long time without work. I felt really strong to
share Ether 12:27 and he absolutely loved it. Like he just keep reading
it and repeating the lines and he was like speechless. It was so cool. I
know that the scriptures are true and they can help us sooo many ways.
Okay so I learned two things in particular this week. 1. not to
have fear of dumb stuff. example. with the 2 new missionaries we went to
the house of a member and she didn't really let us in when we got
there, so I almost thought( well shes busy, she doesn't want us to come
in) but I didn't and I invited ourselves in to share a scripture. We
had a really spiritual experience and she was grateful we came. I have
so many examples of that. Like thinking we shouldn't sing a hymn, or oh
we shouldn't share a scripture, they or we don't have time. It's Satan. I
learned not to stop for dumb stuff like that.
Second thing I learned this week is the importance of not letting
weaknesses stop us from progressing. Sometimes we dwell so much on our
weakness that we don't keep moving forward, we don't repent and change,
And that's what weaknesses are for. I have thought a lot, ¨I'm such a
bad missionary, I cant do this or that, this and that¨ but that is
another Satan lie.
Alright. I'm so happy everyone is doing good. Loved
the emails. really. That's really cool dad about your interim Job! you
can do it.
