This week was also really great. So Monday we had
an amazing district meeting. We talked about hope and it really hit home
with me. Having hope and faith will get us more referrals. But in
district meeting I received some personal revelation, actually my
questions that I had going into conference, it got answered the day
after but it came. What I felt I needed to do was focus on the
scriptures. read them more, improve my study and take them literal. so
this week I have been doing just that, I have felt good this week.
Things have been better and I have been really happy.
This week we, we received a lot of references, more than we have in
the last who knows how long. We have been a lot more busy, it has been
awesome. Everything has just been really great.
Tuesday we had
splits with other missionaries, I was Elder Barrett, from Utah. He is a
really nice guy and it was fun. I got back with Elder Bennett and he
was like.. You're not gonna believe the day we had. Then he gave me the
numbers from the day and I was pretty shocked. In that day we had better
numbers than the entire weeks before. Elder Boden, who was in my place
was like.. what kinda of members do you have?? We really do have amazing
members, its just that sharing the gospel is really hard for them and
the rest of the members here. Our relief society president is the most
amazing lady I have met in my mission. Just amazing. I'll tell more
someday.
We had lessons with this guy from named Hugo. He is 25, he doesn't
know to much about God or anything but wants to learn about prayer. I
will keep you updated. Lorena that lady I told you about is reading the
Book of Mormon, she couldn't go to church this week but we will keep
teaching her this week, I really think she going to be baptized. The
brother that gave us the referral talked about how he prayed to be able
to find someone for us to teach and felt like he was lead to her. He
shared it in testimony meeting.
So after testimony meeting we had the ward missionaries teach Lucy
lesson 2. We were there and also the ward mission leader and his wife.
Everything was great then Luci confessed that she had a hard week and
has been so sad and confused because she hasn't felt like she did when
elder Bennett and I were teaching here the lessons and when she was
baptized. She has been doing everything since! On Saturday she fasted
and gave fast offerings and has already paid tithing, everything but she
didn't understand why she had felt the same. We explained that God
tries our faith and sometimes we have to act remembering those feelings
we have had. We will always have the spirit but its not usually that
overwhelming feeling that happens in a baptism or when we pray about the
Book of Mormon. Then the ward mission leader gave her a blessing and
the room filled with the spirit. All in all it was an amazing
experience!
Life is great. I am doing great. I am really becoming stronger.
I
loved reading Cade's email this week. Dad I'm going to write a few
thoughts to you. Wes and em, hope all is amazing in Peru. Jason and Jan,
Amanda and Brian. Thanks a ton for the emails last week. I will write
back when I can. Thanks for the prayers everyone.
