12/3/12

Wow another great week. Have I got a story for you guys. It might be hard to tell by email, but I will try later in my email. But right now its p day and president should get here any minute for our meeting and right now I'm as sick as a dog. Gotta a nasty cold but its fine, I've been able to work without problems. So don't know how long this email will be. So pumped to hear where Michelle goes, don't want to wait until next Monday to able to hear, owell that's life. Thanks for the emails everyone.

Okay so the story. Well so Juan was supposed to get baptized 2 weeks ago but didn't show up, so we put his date yesterday, the whole week we were not  sure if he was ready or not for yesterday cause he just was different. But he wanted to get baptized yesterday so on Saturday with our ward missionary leader brother Escutia( who is absolutely awesome) we talked about it.  He wasn't sure either so we decided to say a prayer. But not a normal pray but a specific prayer like we had be taught by Elder tenorio ( a 70 who came in June) and hermano escutia had listened to him also on his mission.
So He prayed that if Juan was not ready for tomorrow that when we went to our appointment with him that night at 7 he would not be there and we would be able to find him. That the lord would not let him be there if he wasn't ready, and when we would find out he wasn't home we would feel alright about it and that we would look across the street and look for someone wearing a black t shirt.  We would contact him or her and that person would be someone prepared and accept our message. But if Juan should get baptized tomorrow and his intentions are pure than we would find him and take him to watch Finding Faith in Christ in Brother escutias house.
During the prayer I felt the spirit really strong and I felt really comforted. So we went to another lesson with Sandra and Gabi then we walked to Juan's house, got there and... Not there, not home. So we turn around and start looking for someone with a black shirt and..... there slowly walking down the other side of the street was a kid of about 20 years old with a black t shirt. Really the only person on the whole street. We sprung into action. and contacted him, it was such a surreal experience.  When I was talking it was like I wasnt saying the words. and when we asked him if we would let us come over during the week, he taught about it for a while and the spirit was working on him like none other you could tell. I knew he could say no, it was so cool. we knew he was going to say yes, and he did!  Then he started asking us some questions then we sent up an appointment and left.  We walked back in amazement and told Brother Escutia what happened. He was so pumped that the lord had answered our prayer exactly as we prayed it.
So we knew that Juan wasn't ready for Sunday but we didn't know what to do. So we said another and prayed that if he wasn't ready he would get to church late after the sacrament, and he did. So long story short we don't know when he will get baptized.
The rest of the week was really good.  I am scrabbling as the year starts to come to a close, everything has to perfect financial by the end of the year and starting in 2013 the mission is going to change credit cards, or well change banks, so I've got so much work coming up. Please keep praying for me. But the last 2 weeks I have felt your prayers so much, I feel so blessed.  We had some investigators come to church and we've got some really good things going for us.
Mom to answer your question I have been in the offices since July 3rd so 5  months. and I should be here at least 2 more months probably 3 1/2 more months. Speaking of which something really funny I will probably get put in the Elders Quorum presidency soon, the bishop was talking to me about it. Yesterday I gave the lesson and Thursday night the talk for ward night. Speaking of which that was one of the highlights of the week, It went really well.
Oh man this week was so good I'm just giving highlights. Other highlight was our lesson we had with our new American/ Mexican investigator named Saul. It was all in English and he some amazing questions. He had a really rough past but wants to change and knows the bible. What kinda investigator ask how we can find out which of the 12 tribes he is from, awesome lesson. It gave me confidence for when I get home I will be able to teach the gospel in English and that I know a lottttt more than when I left. We left from that lesson strait to the Christmas devotional and i really like it a lot. I know that this is the lords work. This week and my mission ah, I cant describe my feelings. I'm not a perfect missionary, I am overwhelmed with the thing is need to improve on but I know I am serving the lord and that I am an instrument in his hands. That's all its about. Its not about me or other elders  or President Walker or Brother Esqutia, its the lords work.
well I gotta go
OH mom got your package, Loved it sooo much!!especially the banner. And yes I got the one before that too.
Michelle Good luck tomorrow. Try and send a video
