Wow New Jersey that's such a cool call. I didn´t guess that.
I'm
so pumped for Michelle. Mom I loved the pictures. I remember exactly
what that was like. The only thing is that I wont see her for a year
after I get home so 3 years in total, but its alright, that's what the
rest of life is for.
Well a bit of a slower week that's for sure but its cool.
Elder Bennett and I are both in complete agreement that we learned a
lot about humility this week, we really have been a lot more humble in
our prayers and our actions and everything. I have a testimony of prayer
and of humility. This week we went on splits twice -on Thursday with 2
other missionaries that live in our house- and on Friday with a zone
leader, it was fun but its hard to have as much success when your not
with your companion and our numbers kinda of suffered. On Thursday with
Elder Fonseca and Elder Barret ( they are a trio) Elder Barret made me
eat this super tiny spicy peeper. I just ate it whole right of the plant
and I almost died of spiciness, it was hilarious. On Friday with Elder
Robbins we had a lesson with one of our investigators named Jose, who is
going to church. It was a really good lesson amazingly only an hour
long in total( he talks and talks, and is really hard to teach) but it
was because Elder Robbins just kept interupting him all the time, he
doesn't like Elder Robbins but at least we had a productive lesson. 3
interesting things from the lesson. #1 he wants to get baptized but
won't put a date #2 he told us he used to give his testimony about Jesus
Christ in front of like 10,000 people for special christian gatherings #
3 his friend told him not to meet with us and he was so surprised
because he did not see one bad thing about us and he was so confused
that his friend told him that. Then he went to church again and really
liked it, we will see his progress as time goes on. Saturday was really
slow and also Sunday. Sunday in church Luci Talked in sacrament meeting
and did amazing. she pretty much told the ward that they need to be
better and have more charity, it was awesome haha. Oh and Juan didn't go
to church, we think we are going to have to drop him for a little bit.
Then that day it was slow and we didn't have anything to do so we said a
prayer in the street and then we went walking to a members house to
have him come with us to visit a less active whose wife is not a member,
on the way we ran into the same member and said he would go with us for
sure, so we were blessed to run into him. So we went to visit the
family and the husband ( member) wasn't there but his wife let us in and
we had a good talk and set up a family night with them on Tuesday, so
that was an answer to a prayer right there. My prayers lately have been a
lot better and more humble. In church I felt the impression to read
Mosiah 3:18 and it hit me so hard. I don't think there is a Scripture
with more doctrine than that verse. it explains it all, I felt like I
need to be more submissive and meek and humble, it hit me really hard.
Also I am going to start up my study again on charity, Lucy's talk
inspired me, she used like 5 scriptures from the bible that were
amazing. ( she can run circles around the members with her bible
information) I invite you guys and myself to have as much love as
possible for other people this Christmas, not gifts but just love. that
includes patience, saying nice things, helping in anyway.
mom I got the Christmas package its so huge, I'm so excited!! I am
loving the Christmas season, its weird cause it's warm right now here
but its gonna get cold. Oh mom I'll let you know more details about the
calls but it will be Christmas day around 10 am Monterrey time( we just
decided this in our meeting with president like an hour ago) I'll give
you more details next week. Also I'm pumped cause we as secretaries get
to eat dinner on Christmas eve with president and his whole family in
the mission house and we are in charge of the devotional and the
activity.
Right now I'm absolutely swamped with work. It's going to be
interesting to finish off the month but I will do it. Transfers are on
Sunday and I know I will stay ... duh but we're not sure whats gonna
happen. I like elder Bennett but 4 transfers is just ridiculous. But
anyway its gonna be crazy these next 2 weeks.
