Man every week is like a roller coaster and its hard to know where to start.
I'll
start with the least important.. I thought that being on a mission
would take away the pain affiliated with sports but it is not true. I
hate my sports addiction. I Hate loosing. I hate Utah
Alright well, I'll talk about stuff that actually matters, like the
baptism we had Saturday ( !!crowd cheer!!) You have no idea how awesome
it was. So Luci was a reference from the west mission. She had been
taking English classes from the senior couple over there and they
prepared her like non other, then sent us the referral. But the senior
couple the Lillywhites came to the baptism and it was so cool. They love
Luci so much. This is exactly why there are senior couples, so listen
up older people reading my letter, they just loved her so much! Their
love and their funny American accents did wonders. The turn out from the
ward was awesome also, great messages from 2 members, the bishop
baptized her and the spirit was so strong, she was so ready. Then after,
a family brought hot chocolate and everyone stood and talked in a big
circle. It was awesome. Then Luci spoke and thanked everyone for coming
and said she thought there would be like 3 people that would show up. I
love this ward. We haven't gotten many referrals from them but I still
love them.
So yeah she's baptized. Now the ward is going to work, its really
cool. All they talked about in ward council was how to keep Luci from
going inactive. Now she needs to find some return missionary and get
married, if she can do that.. wow who knows what could happen.
Okay so yes I did mention hot chocolate. This week it cooled down a
ton and Thursday night until yesterday afternoon it rained. Saturday it
was cold and wet. I am loving every second of it. I am just a happier
person with weather like this.
It rained all night Thursday and Friday we woke up and step out of
our beds into water. Yes our house kinda floods when it rains, but we
had to be in the offices early cause our zone had interviews with
president, it was a crazy morning. Then I had my interview, it was good.
He had everyone share a favorite scripture from the Book of Mormon, I
shared Alma 19:6. President really like it and the spirit was strong as I read it.
Then later that day we had splits with the zone leaders. Elder
Seeley and I were in my area, he's way tight. We also had splits
Wednesday, I stayed in my area. I was with elder Riveros from Paraguay, I
really like him too.
Anyway so a problem we have is that we don't really have
investigators... yeah its not good. we have some prospects. were gonna
keep working.
Have you guys read the September
Ensign. if not I'm going to.. I don't know, but just read it and get
ready this conference for the brethren to tell us all to share the
gospel. I'm telling you, get ready and share the gospel. Don't worry if
you don't know with who, the lord will put people in your paths, and
there are always a lot of less actives to help.
OH yeah so this Saturday and Sunday was Mexican
independence Day. It was the 16th so yesterday but more celebrated
Saturday. There were some sweet fireworks we watched from our porch. The
whole city was decked out in Mexican stuff. Thursday in ward night it
was a Mexican night where we eat food and stuff, its the real 5 de mayo
cause they actually celebrate it here.
I learn so much every week.
Thought of the week. "life
is what you make it, if you choose to make the best of stuff life is
better. We cant control things just the way we react".
